Darjeeling the perfect cup of tea

Darjeeling the city giving Good Mornings....

At 12:30 PM I got into a flight from IGI Airport to My destination Darjeeling, Its no like there's any direct flight but u have to Land at Assam's Airport. I was in anticipation of many things. Green everywhere, mountains with cloud hats, tea gardens carpeting the rolling hills, waterfalls as embellishments, blue sky, cool breeze, hot green tea with a hint of lemon etc ... ah! We were driving on an uneven road with lots of water streaming down. Best part was I was enjoying it!
In Darjeeling, only difference was the absence of a feeling ... feeling of fear mixed with excitement! There were no elephants if at all the vehicle ditched us in Darjeeling rain!
I had never traveled in a TATA Sumo with 10 passengers excluding the driver. All of them no family but Family friends. Some were going with Children below 5 and some just stepped into Teenage, but we all were there no one of my Age (forced to) sticking to each other. We had a stop for tea. The cardamom tea was real yum! But they served tea in a shot glass :) Then the journey continued. Later the road was much better and rain subdued. The taxi dropped us at the hotel where we were supposed to stay.
After freshening up We started to venture out ... booked a shared cab for Tiger Hill sunrise. Next Morning we went running to the taxi stand from the hotel at 4:00AM to reach the summit of Tiger Hill to witness the sunrise over Magnificent Mt K. It was indeed stunning! What was more surprising was the crowd ... ocean of people and the cabs parked along the road for KMs ... People were shouting and laughing, smoking and shivering, just to watch golden Mt. K at sunrise.
After the breakfast I went to get a ticket for the Toy train. Didn't get one so took a picture. (Just a Picture)
Later visited Ava Art Gallery. Very impressive embroidery pictures. Amazing art! Well, then visited few monasteries. One of the important is Ghoom. Lovely place. Met a little-boy-monk who was very cute, articulate and helpful.
The Darjeeling Rock Gardens ... a garden around a natural waterfalls. Not very well maintained but still very beautiful and a serene place. I first thought of hiking down. But, then decided not to after going 4KM. The gardens are 10KM from the city and the road is very steep down the hill with lots of bends all the way. Hired a taxi to Rock Garden and Ghoom Monastery. I was glad we did that. It would have been a very very tough hike up otherwise, but very much adoable! If you want to try take atleat 3 liters of water. Way down, the driver stopped at good view points and tea gardens.
The waterfalls is very impressive and the flower garden in steps up the stream, the terraced picnic areas attract the tourists. There is a cave shrine where one can see huge snakes, well they are not real.(Ooh Hisss ha ha)
Next day We went walking up to see the Japanese peace pagoda. Beautiful structure in the midst of green. The stupa has stone images narrating stories and also the Buddha images of infant, meditating, teaching and reclining. Very peaceful place.
Then Shopping! Darjeeling is a nice place to shop and also window-shop!

Myths about eating habits in India

The myths about food and eating in India.....

Don’t eat after 8 pm, stop eating rice, avoid bananas and potatoes, no tea and coffee! How many times you have been advised to make these changes in your diet by your friends and relatives when you said you wish to lose weight? Almost all the time! Right?  And you end up following the advice without realising that it may not do any good to you.
In reality, we are surrounded by many misconceptions when it comes to dieting and that’s the reason many dieters fail to achieve their goal even if they are highly motivated. Let’s look at 10 such myths associated with dieting and the impact they have on you.
Myth #1 Low fat = Low calorie
Low-fat diet simply doesn’t mean low-calorie diet and therefore it doesn’t give you the license to eat as much as you want. If you pile up your plate with low-fat farsan, you may end up eating more calories than if you had a one serving of chips. In order to make products low in fat, manufacturers add substituting ingredients like flour, sugar, starch, etc. to improve taste and this adds calories. Therefore the best way to know about how healthy your food product is check the nutritional label, and know how many calories, fat, sugar you are getting.
Myth #2 Say no to rice, potatoes and bananas
Learn to make smart choices and include these foods in your diet without letting them hamper your calorie count. For example, banana in the morning will not only provide you with a dose of potassium, fibre, vitamin C, etc.  but will also provide you with energy which will help you keep going throughout the day.
Rice contains methionine which helps mobilise fat from the liver. Where you need to be careful is stop mindless eating and control portion size when it comes to eating rice based preparations.
Potatoes are loaded with nutrients too but we make it unhealthy by using faulty cooking treatments like deep frying (chips, cutlet, French fries, etc). If included sensibly in diet it can protect against cardiovascular disease and cancer due to high potassium and Vitamin B6.
Myth #3 Avoid eating outside food while dieting.
Most fast foods are unhealthy but not all, and if you choose your options carefully you can include them in your healthy diet. Tips you can follow: Avoid high-calorie toppings like cheese, butter, mayonnaise; instead you can go for salsa, garlic dip, etc.
Pick fresh fruit juice or milkshake rather than aerated drinks.
Choose salad based wraps and burgers.
Ask for steamed, baked or grilled items rather than deep fried.
Myth #4 Eat less, weigh less. If you eat less or skip meals you will end up binging later on when you feel extremely hungry. And therefore you gain more weight and your efforts get wasted. Moreover, if you keep yourself on extremely low-calorie diet for longer period of time, your metabolism gets altered and restricting yourself from essential nutrients also poses great health threats.
Myth #5 Say no to snacking
While mindless snacking can gift you with several extra kilos, thoughtful snacking can help you reduce several kilos. People who have small, frequent meals with snacks are more likely to get better weight loss results. Choose snacks which are low in calorie and high in protein so that they can curb your hunger pangs in a healthy way.

Ace ventura : a pet detective

.........................Ace Ventura..........................

When the Miami Dolphins' mascot is kidnapped one week before the Super Bowl, team assistant Melissa (Courteney Cox) brings in pet detective Ace Ventura (Jim Carrey) to solve the case. Sporting a loud shirt and roller coaster hairdo, the wacky detective immediately begins an investigation, eventually unearthing a mystery involving a vengeful football player who once played for the Dolphins. Ace must race the clock when he realizes that star player Dan Marino (as himself) is in danger. But Without Carrey, this comedy would add up to a perfect zero. Ace revolves around Carrey's talent for contorting his face. On display, he mugs and writhes incessantly, shamelessly, for his audience. Director Tom Shadyac indulges his antics and butt-cheek ventriloquism, mindful not to put anything in the way like a plot that might distract from his prize performer. Unfortunately, the talents of Sean Young and Courteney Cox are squandered here. Parents might be misled by the seemingly innocent movie title, and should be aware that the bathroom humor and sexual content can be offensive. They should be further warned that dramatic kids might spend days imitating Carrey's wildly exaggerated mannerisms. Families can talk about the why this kind of "stupid humor" appeals to audiences. Why do different people find different things funny? How does this movie compare to Jim Carrey's other comedies? Families can also discuss the history of physical comedy. How does this movie's humor differ from that of the Three Stooges, and how is it similar? Film released On February 4, 1994. Courteney Cox(Melissa) has done a good acting as a Co-Star but Jim Carrey took all the eyes off to the ground with such an Amazing act of expression and with best comic Timing. Director Tom Shadyac put the best Cast to complete a Comic film under 87 Minutes of time.
